CRV would like to congratulate Jos, Ingrid and Ben Knoef from Geesteren on the hundredth cow to have achieved a lifetime production of more than 100,000 kg of milk on their farm.
In the financial year 2021-2022, the average lifetime production of dairy cows in the Netherlands rose by almost 1,800 kg to 37,401 kg of milk. The lifespan of the cows rose by almost two months.
We are happy that exhibitions can take place again and we look forward to welcoming you at Eurotier this year! The exhibition will take place from 15th till 18th of November in Hannover.
CRV follows Dutch farmers of the future who explain why they want to work in agriculture. Young men and women with great drive and energy, who are keen to start work in the barn, among the cows, after their studies. The enthusiasm of the new generation is infectious: they see oppportunities where the other generation sometimes sees threats and pitfalls.
Cows with genetics that produce more milk using less feed could help dairy farmers around the world combat rising feed costs, which show no sign of easing. Breeding towards better feed efficiency helps lower feed costs as well as greenhouse gas emissions.
